Țara Dornelor: the land of mineral waters

Vatra Dornei, the “pearl of Bukovina”, grew into a spa town back in the Austro-Hungarian era, when its carbonated mineral springs brought it fame. In 1898 the Spa Casino was built to the designs of architect Peter Paul Brang — a symbol of the resort's golden age, reopened to the public in 2023.

The land of mineral waters

The area is renowned for the density of its mineral springs, which feed some of Romania's best-known water brands. Its carbonated waters and mofettes have been used in spa treatments for over a century — a natural resource that defines the place's identity.

An eco-destination

The Călimani mountains, the largest volcanic complex in the Carpathians, hold a national park and hundreds of kilometres of trails. Țara Dornelor is a certified ecotourism destination, with a genuine commitment to nature, heritage and community.

That's exactly why our program is built around the place: we back businesses that respect and draw on these values, for a sustainable local economy.
